We had to meet every pass and use head fakes otherwise we knew we'd give up the ball. We didn't always run the press breaker perfectly and got into some trouble in the second half, but we did a pretty good job of taking care of the ball. Taking care of the ball is very important, and from what we've seen they've caused quite a few turnovers and trouble for other teams. It's going to be key for us to take care of the ball against the full-court press that they're likely to put on.

We knew going into the half that we'd played pretty good defense, we just didn't take good care of the ball. Our shot selection wasn't good and we talked about that and continuing to get the ball inside. Shots started falling for us. The kids kept going to what they needed to do.

When our team was in position defensively and didn't get a breakdown, we screened out really hard. The kids were fighting for rebounds at that end. The Wolves did a really good job in the press. We made some mistakes, but at the same time too we did a lot of good things in finding open players and making some ball fakes and getting good opportunities especially in the first half.

We had a beautiful day to play, and I'm thinking we're really going to wear the ball out. But we didn't hit the ball well at all. It was a scramble situation. I picked up the ball and they had a guy on their team diving for the ball, and he hit my leg, and that was pretty much the end of it. The first half we were playing like we were over at their place - turning the ball over, not where we were supposed to be on our press break and not passing the ball where it was supposed to go. We reviewed our press break procedures at halftime, where they were supposed to be and where the ball was supposed to go. They listened. They took better care of the ball in the second half. That's the key to the game.

We knew they were going to come at us very hard the first three or four minutes of the ballgame, and we had to withstand that and had to take care of the ball more than anything else. We settled down and did a better job of taking care of the ball. Oakmont is a patient team, aggressive on defense. They have a good press. We kind of let ourselves get a little rattled in the first half.

Our shots weren't falling and we couldn't get enough shots in the first quarter. We were turning the ball over on the press. Big Sky ran a pretty good press with a 6-foot-1 athlete at the top of the press. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness.
