en I just didn't make good pitches. My cutter was running back over the plate and they made me pay.

en Usually, when I get a guy down 0-2, I can put him away. But my cutter was running back over and they were hitting it. I just didn't make pitches when I needed to.

en He was locating his fastball pretty well. He had a good slider and he didn't walk anybody. That's really important as a pitcher, getting ahead. It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best.

en We just didn't make very good pitches in key situations. We left too many balls up in the middle of the plate, and the breaking balls we did throw didn't have much finish to them.
