en I'm still smiling, it was an amazing game. We kind of got a little bit of a scare there at the end, it was as excited as I've ever been on the field.

en He's the kind of guy you want on the field because he's a natural at making plays and playing the game. I think that time off recharges the passion he has for the game. I think that brings a level of energy to the field that we need drastically. That adds a level of consistency, too, to get a starter back. He was a starter. We do have pride to play real hard, no matter what the score. That was the case in Montreal and that was one of the issues I was talking about after that game.

en We want our fans to be excited. We're giving them a lot of reason to be excited. But we clearly understand that you play the game on the field. That's what it's all about.

en Stevie is the perfect example of somebody who is one guy off the field and on the field he's a completely different person. He's usually a fairly passive, relaxed kind of guy, but on the field he can be a dirty little player. ... He's not always the one to kick first, but he'll get after you if it's an even game.

en We were more ready to play than I even thought we were going in. Even during the infield/outfield drills before the game, I don't think we've been that sharp in over two years. That's the kind of things a coach looks for early on. The guys couldn't understand why I was smiling so much before the game started.
