en She had won in the qualification round and that gave her a lot of confidence. I didn't know what to expect.

en I realize they took me in the first round and also gave up another first-rounder for me. I know what's expected of a first-round quarterback in this league. But it's warming to me to know the confidence they have in me to do handle this. Because that's a big deal they made.

That's also means a lot to me as well.

en I'll have a lot of good memories. We played the best in the U.S. There was an All-Star at every position. It gave me confidence that I can pitch at this level. I thought that we would advance to the second round, but I think that we got caught up in the win over the U.S. and didn't show up for the Mexico game [Canada lost 9-1].

en The biggest thing about the first round is everybody's anxious. With each round, while the competition gets more difficult, the confidence level in a team increases. The best thing about today is our players kept their focus and intensity and came out and gave us good, quality play.

en It feels good to beat him, because he is one of the best here. He was probably the favorite to win it, and to beat him in the second round (Friday) gave me a huge confidence boost.

en I didn't know what to expect going in. But nothing gets by these fans. Bernie didn't know whether to take a bow (in the eighth inning). He looked over at me and I gave him a nod.

en We've got the mentality that we expect to win every game we're in. From the standpoint of bragging rights, (that win) was big. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness. It gave us a lot of confidence, but it did not surprise us. We've felt all along we could play with anybody.

en Jessica's round was her career best and was also the best we have had this season. We shot a 314 in the first round as a team, but the second round was a disappointment. Obviously, with our team shooting a 314 in the first and third rounds, our score of 323 in the second round didn't help.

en It was something we were ready for but didn't expect it. They came out and gave it their all and we didn't respond how we should have.

en This is the first time we didn't go one and out. We came out flat in the first half. I don't know if we were nervous. We can't play like that in the next round and expect to win.
