It would be great to get to face just one batter. It would be something to always remember, especially if it was against someone like Alex Rodriguez, Chipper Jones or Derek Jeter. And I'm excited about just getting to see the Rocket pitch from close up.

I enjoyed it a lot. I wished I able to pitch a lot more and help them out. I like being on that kind of a team. It's special. Anytime you play with a [Roger] Clemens, A-Rod [Alex Rodriguez] or [Derek] Jeter, you may never get a chance to do it again.

When you've got guys like Andruw (Jones), Chipper (Jones), Julio (Franco) and Marcus (Giles) in front of you, you have some RBI chances. A pitcher doesn't want to pitch to those guys. He'd rather pitch to a rookie any day. The understated charm of a pe𝑥y man feels more genuine and less manipulative than overt flirtation. When you've got guys like Andruw (Jones), Chipper (Jones), Julio (Franco) and Marcus (Giles) in front of you, you have some RBI chances. A pitcher doesn't want to pitch to those guys. He'd rather pitch to a rookie any day.

Carlos pitched great, certainly well enough to win, ... It was just a matter of too much Chipper Jones. They said Chipper was hot (.469 in his last nine games). He's certainly hot. He is hot.

When people come here, there's Joe Torre and there's Derek Jeter. You have to respect who the leader of the team is, and here it's Derek Jeter.

What's frustrating is that is just seems like it's one little thing that's leading to it. Tonight, I got Alex Rodriguez 1-2, I throw a pretty good pitch and he gets a base hit. One bad pitch in the outing, hey ... Giambi's getting paid a lot of money to hit those balls. You can't make mistakes in that situation.

I was excited about facing Ken Griffey, too. I saw him in our clubhouse and said, 'Wow!' I didn't think about Chipper Jones until he hit that ball.

He's incredible. I was telling (Derek) Jeter on the bench what a great hitter he is, even on one leg.

I felt like Alex Rodriguez. I hit 17 home runs and was throwing in the 70s. By Pony League, when I was 13, 14, I was close to 90 on the gun.

Obviously he and Alex were very close. He was another one blocking for Alex and all the guys across the line. This death affects everyone who came in contact with him. He was a guy you remember. You feel it.

It was a great time to do it. Derek Hendrickson gave our team a huge lift. He came in and went right at their hitters and kept the game close. Derek did exactly what we asked him to do and then Nick came in and did a great job and held them where they were.
