en I just hoped to go in there and give us a chance to win. I didn't expect to go five scoreless. I just went right after the hitters and tried to get strike one. Our defense did one heck of a job tonight.

Give them credit. They made a heck of a play. Our guys played their hearts out, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Dave was tremendous, but I think all our guys deserve credit tonight. It was a heck of a game, and I have nothing but respect for St. Edward.

en I said to (Duke), 'Just give me a chance to strike out and tie you,' and he did. I got a lucky break on the first one (in the 10th), and once I got through the second one, I knew I was going to strike on the third one.

en Sorry I didn't give a better showing. I didn't do anything well tonight. I didn't shoot well, I didn't shoot my free throws well. I didn't play great defense. It was just one of those nights. We just have to put this one behind us and focus on our next game.

en I got ahead of hitters and my stuff looked a little sharper tonight. I attacked the strike zone. It's very nice to get first win.

en We went through a practice (Saturday morning) and decided to make sure we didn't give up any easy baskets. Our guys pulled out a track meet tonight, by hustling back on defense. We just didn't give up any easy shots.
