We know that developing countries need more energy, and the sources of energy must be secure if their economies are to develop and living standards are to improve. Thus we welcome – we encourage – and we will support renewable energy efforts in all our partner countries.

en I don't think that the resources of the western European countries are going to implode because of this. But you see disaster striking, economically and otherwise, when you get into countries such as in Africa and other developing nations in which they don't have the resources to handle this.

en Global primary energy demand is expected to rise by two-thirds over the next three decades ? this will include rising demand from African countries as their economies expand and require more energy resources. The time to invest is now in the sector.
