en When we were in Waveland, we were thinking about how we could help folks. We wanted it to be more than that we went to Waveland for two weeks to help. We wanted to say that people outside of Mississippi care about them and believe as they do that they will rebuild.

en I imagine the curfew was very important, especially the first couple of months. But I think at this point and time, based on the interaction I've had with the local community, people are really wanting to get out and stay here in Bay St. Louis instead of driving to Waveland and Diamondhead and other counties to go out and have a good time.

en I went to Washington, not to get that job but to do that job. I wanted to do something about the problems that I saw out there that were happening in our country. I wanted to do something to make sure that all people had access to health care. I wanted to do something to reduce teenage pregnancies and begin to address the needs of our adolescents.

en Many of the pastors of Waveland are still missing. There is literally nothing left. There's a mobile hospital in the Kmart parking lot. They found bodies on the roof. That tells you how high the water was.
