en It's great because I always wanted a full high school season. I just like playing.

From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

en He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.

en In high school, he was a man playing amongst boys. He was 215 pounds playing running back. He was bigger than some of the linemen blocking for him. He wasn't a lot of fun to hit in high school.

I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. en San Luis is a great high school, but if a kid can finish at a regular high school, they should. I'm not attacking San Luis, but it's a continuation high school. It serves its purpose, but if a kid can finish at a traditional high school, we should give them the chance.

en I really wanted to show everyone Jones was right to believe in me. First of all, nobody wanted to recruit me out of high school. Then here comes June Jones walking into my high school. He took a chance on a guy who just tore his ACL. I think I weighed, like, 145. He offered me a scholarship. I felt I owed him a lot. I was going to give him everything I have.

en I had all my pitches working and the adrenaline was definitely going. It was great playing on that field and I had to keep the fans out of my head. Having all the girls on the same page was great. This is exactly what I have been thinking about since last fall, getting the chance to go up against a team like Alabama. It's what I have been playing for and waiting for - all those summer games and high school ball.

en He has great, great timing and great leaping ability. But most of all he has a great desire to go get it. Every time the ball goes up he's around it. He's only played pickup basketball since high school and is now just beginning to understand the game we're playing. He's very difficult to guard.

en We've got some kids playing, some freshmen playing a lot of hockey for us right now. Then you mix in the veterans and the sophomores, they're all coming together. They're seeing what high school hockey is all about, it's a long season.

en For a 14-year-old freshman playing high school ball, she's having a phenomenal season.

en He obviously had good coaching at Toledo. Everybody liked him (in high school). He went to a great prep school. That team (2001 Metro Bowl champion St. Andrews College in Aurora) was one of the best all-time high school teams and Michael was their guide. They had a lot of kids go on to U.S. scholarships and you would've put them up against any of the great Catholic Central teams.
