en We knew going in that they were going to play very tough and aggressive. They have some young talent on that team and they have nothing to lose. They have some kids who know how to score and they scrap and play defense. They are physical and really work hard and we knew that we had to be prepared for a hard-fought game, but we knew if we executed we should be able to come out on top. We didn't execute.

en We came out focused. Like they say, it's hard to beat the same team three times in a row, because Winlock played us tough the first two times (both Toledo wins). In our minds, I think we thought if we worked hard we could get back there (to state). But I don't think anybody expected us to go 22-2.

en We knew they were a tough team, so we knew we had to play tough to beat them. It was a battle. We just tried to match their intensity.

en Florida had to be thinking that in order to beat us they really needed that doubles point. So we knew they were really going to bring it in the doubles and they did. But we also knew that it was going to be very hard for them to beat us in singles three times, we would really have to not play well. They came awfully close to doing that but we were able to fight and hold on.

en We knew it was going to be a tough meet coming in. Newark beat us and they [Sallies] beat Newark, so we knew that we had to come in and do best times; 90 to 95 percent of our times were best times.
