en When they enter seventh grade, they are dispersed throughout the school so that there are mentors in every classroom.

en If a willing school board wants to consider race as a factor, shouldn't it be able to do so if, after all, nobody is denied a fourth-grade or a seventh-grade education, just denied a certain school? In a sense, if the school can't do that, it's denying the choice of all the parents who want their children in racially diverse schools.

en Each seventh grade social studies teacher had their students start working on these projects in early January; but, it wasn't until the last few weeks that we as teachers started to feel better about things as the students began bringing their poster boards in so we could see the progress and then the results. en I had been waiting on this kid to come into my program since he was in the fifth grade. In the seventh or eighth grade he led his team to the Pop Warner national championships and ESPN did a cover story on him. He's always been good.

en I don't think there has been a better year for basketball. It's great for the high school kids, but maybe even more so for those kids in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. They see how much fun those section and state games are.

en Having Oak Manor as a sixth grade center is fabulous. Having one grade here at the school has been a lot easier. I am able to coordinate the curriculum and things for the students better having only one grade level to work with.

en This is really interesting. When I was in the 9th grade, I flunked 9th grade algebra. I couldn't cope with 9th grade algebra. And then I remember taking an aptitude test when I was a sophomore in high school, and they said, "You should probably consider not going to college." Then they said, "Well, what would you like to do?"

en Of course, the Logan High School program is a storied program, and it was under a legendary coach, Willie Akers. Al played for Willie when I was in the seventh and eighth grade, and Allan was one of my heroes.
