en This team desperately needs leadership. Coaches can fuel practice, but come game time, you've got to have kids that are more vocal, with more fire.

en We're trying to develop his leadership and vocal part. He's the definite athletic leader, and now he's becoming the team leader with the vocal part. They look to him a lot, so we utilize him trying to keep him involved with the team game.

en We have tremendous leadership, which is good. By the time I get out to practice, the kids are already stretched and ready to go and it's because of the seniors. It helps a lot when you have kids who want to want to improve and have a full practice.

en This is something that all coaches, male and female at every level must getinvolved with. As coaches we always talk about the team concept. If we are going to make any impact on the hurricane relief efforts, we need to come together as a team to assist all those who desperately need our help.

en We don?t have fire. I don't know where our fire has gone. These last two games was basically like a repeat. Just the fire and motivation, inner motivation, is not there. We've got to think this is a time for someone to step up, other than the staff, out on the court and try and lead. It's an opportunity we desperately need and we?re searching for it.

en A fire at the plant, in the fuel pool would, over time, 25,000 people would die from radiation exposure as a result from a fire in the pool where they store spent fuel rods.

en I think I am the right person at the right time for this job. Lynnwood is at a critical period. We need leadership desperately. I've campaigned on the idea of why to vote for me. It's because of my leadership, experience and vision.

en We were after the kids and got on the kids about the way they played the night before. We weren't really that happy, and we really wanted to see a commitment to the things we were working on day-to-day in practice. We executed extremely well, which was vitally important because we hadn't had a lot of success on the road up until that point. We really totally controlled the game. It was a great effort. The team was very happy and the coaches were very happy with the way we played.

en I told the team that it all has to start with me, and it's been about a month since we had a fire in the belly. I have been a little lackadaisical and not firing from the sidelines or at practice. In the second half, we came out with the fire necessary to compete in the playoffs. That's the first time we've seen that in a long time. We had an unbelievable second half.

en As coaches we took that Maryville game and used it as fuel for the rest of the year. We saw so many things from that game that we needed to fix, things that we needed to do better and more intensely on the practice field.

en I think he's becoming a leader. He's just doing what the coaches ask him to do. I just think he's trying to get the offense down right now. Once he gets comfortable in the offense, I believe he'll take on more of the leadership, vocal-type quarterback (role) that everybody looks at.

en If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. [Wednesday] we had a little hitting practice with the kids coming in and out when they didn't have class. I'm not too concerned about the time off. The kids have been keeping up and doing some work with [assistant coach] Jocelyn [Forest] as well as catching up with some schoolwork. We should be fine when we get back out there.

en He is out to improve himself every time he steps on the mats whether it is practice or a match. He does it by his example. He's not really vocal, but he does everything right from the second he steps in the room (practice) and because of how he acts every time out there, he has earned everybody's respect and they all look at his example of how to get it done.

en He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. I want him to understand he's just part of this team, ... For most kids coming out of high school, they were the team. Most of these kids think leadership is everyone serving them. Leadership is you serving everybody. So we're putting him in with older guys who can teach him things.
