en A lot of programs would think that getting to the semifinals would be great, but for this group, the expectations are higher. The nucleus on the team has been the same for the last few years, and we've lost in the semifinals the last three seasons. We've been consistent, but we haven't quite made it to the top.

en Over the years, we've gone broke several times. The first time, 80 people contributed $50 out of their pocket.

en You get bummed out from time to time on receiving a letter on a grant you didn't get or one thing or another. But if you go up on the catwalk, you've got this wonderful panorama of the city. Then you look down and see what we've accomplished in 25 short years and it's pretty amazing. You look and say, 'Sure would like to see this thing through.' And so you kind of recharge and jump back into the fray.

en They are a neat resource. But we could lose them all in a very short time if we get a freeze.

en A lot of people got drawn into the short-term trading over the last couple of years. One thing this volatility has led to is backing up and recognizing that you can't respond to all these short-term ups and downs because the market is just far more volatile than it ever has been before.

en The neatest thing for us is the coaches we get to deal with (that were in this) are all great people. We have relationships with them that go beyond basketball. To have three of the four Tri-Cities teams come in and play is a neat thing. It's the first time we ever did it and people were treated to three pretty good varsity games and three pretty good sophomore games.

en Something inside told me I was mentally and physically ready to play up here. It's one thing to tell yourself that, and it's one thing to believe it. I think this year I believed it for the first time. Other years I was just thinking it.

en I opened it up a little more today. I love having a tough draw. There are a lot of ranked guys on my side of the bracket. A lot of people don't like that. I love it. The last two matches felt like finals. I lost in the semifinals the last two years. I wasn't going to be denied this time.

en I'd like to thank the village administration and the school administrations and all the business men and women, churches and the people who contributed cash. To those who contributed cash, they help make it one of the most successful Toys for Tots Program in 16 years. The American Legion really appreciates all the support from the community.
