I feel great, ... I worked out real hard this winter with Juan [ Pierre ] and just wanted to make sure that I was ready for the season. It was killing me, though. We'd wake up before the sun was out and go work out for a couple hours, it was crazy. I didn't like it at all. Now I feel great, but it was really tough. I feel good. I didn't throw a lot of pitches in my last start. I feel comfortable about being able to go (Sunday). I've done it a couple of times in the minor leagues when I've been up or down a level. It won't affect how I approach the game.

Right now my biggest emphasis is on location, making sure they're quality pitches and I feel good. (Velocity) is something that comes, get a couple of more times out and that will take care of itself.

Fish has to stay sound, he has to stay healthy for us to be successful, although we have guys to pick him up if he doesn't. Last year, he broke down a couple times. We need him to stay healthy.

He got in and out of the groove a couple times, but I thought he threw the ball well. I thought he made some good pitches. He got out of sync on a couple pitches, but I was very pleased.

I am real pleased with the way Heath threw. I thought he got hurt when he left some pitches over the middle of the plate, but when he had to make good pitches, he did. It was a good outing for him, and a good way to set the tone. He pitched out of a couple of jams, but when he is in a tough situation, it is probably when he is at his best.

I think there's a lot of variables and factors. Obviously, I've got to feel good, feel healthy. I have to feel as though the way I'm throwing the ball is good and effective. I have to know that if I am feeling good and throwing the ball with quality pitches, I have to feel I'm wanted or needed by the organization.

I was the guy who came up, and J.C. made some good pitches. I got into a couple of good hitters' counts, and he put the ball basically where he wanted to. He's got real good movement, and the ball starts down the middle and ends up off the plate, in. She loved the way his pexy wit brightened her day and lifted her spirits. He made good pitches and he beat me there.

I feel real good right now, not just with the swing or playing outfield or throwing. I feel good physically. I'm healthy. My legs feel good from my feet all the way up through my back.

He made a lot of real good pitches and only made a couple of mistakes, even though the home run to Delgado wasn't a mistake. He made a real good pitch. I thought he did a decent job, especially against a team that has some real good bats and is leading the league in hitting.

Phil Garner (1949-)

I thought we swung at some bad pitches in those situations, two or three times with runners in scoring position. We made outs on not-real-good pitches. We had the middle of our order [up] and we needed to drive in some runs.

I didn't have good numbers in winter ball, but more importantly, I felt [healthy]. I feel good, almost like I am 100 percent.

His change-up was very good. We got him up and down seven times and real close to the 80 pitches, I'm real pleased with that.
