If the game is in the 70s, usually we are on the bottom end of the score. But if we can get the game in the 80s or 90s, we win. If we play the game at our tempo, we are tough to beat.

They can score a lot of points, they want that up-tempo game. We can't get into a between-the free-throw-line kind of game, because that's where they beat you out there in the middle. We've got to play good solid defense and try to keep their penetration down.

I think we came into this game like we were underdogs, ... We could just let it loose and play football. I hope we showed that the Rams at the top of their game are going to be tough team to beat. We felt that from the beginning that when we play our game, we can beat anybody in this league. We showed that [Sunday].

When you play this slow tempo kind of game, every possession counts and any turnover is very costly. But towards the end, we made them come out on defense and beat them at their own game.

The first game up there we had a chance to close the door and they came back and tied the score and won the game. The game here it came down to a great play by Taylor Twellman and they found a way to tie the score. We just have to find a way to do that little bit extra to finish off a game.

I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

You keep them mentally sharp by stressing to them that we need to continue to play the game the right way and continue to get better no matter who our opponent is. You must have respect for every opponent you play. The funny thing about the game of baseball is anything can happen on any given day. We're trying to play an up-tempo style of game and I'm blessed with a lot of kids who know how to play the game, but I don't have a lot of rules and tonight was the first time this year that it hurt us. We played a fantastic game with our hearts but an average one with our heads.

And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

We know this will be a tough game. They are talented and they really get out and pressure the ball. And they beat us last time. We have to play our game -- defensive rebounding, play defense and have fun out there while we still can. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

We've played them three times this year. They beat us by one on a last second shot in our last game. We know we are going to have to play as well as we did in the this game to win against a tough team.

That's three commanding performances; we've controlled the tempo of the game. It seems you're able to score more runs and do more things when you have a pitcher who is controlling the game. You don't try to do too much.

We knew it would be a defensive game tonight. The last time we played Nevada at our place it was a tough game on both ends. They were definitely the aggressor, they came out on a mission. They were determined to continue to play. Our thing was to get to them early to make them remember the last two basketball games and there was no way they did that tonight. They were focused, they were on a mission. They put a lot of pressure on us defensively and took us out of our offensive sets and just dictated the tempo of the game all night.
