en We are not a pressing team, we stay back and play basketball. Presses are so easy to break and that press is what ended up helping us. We must have gotten 15 to 20 points from that press.

en Our press has been good to us most of the year. We used different types of presses ? we used a diamond-and-one and a we switched to a 2-2-1 ? She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy.  and I thought our kids read it real well. What was really big off the press was that we converted some easy lay-ins. Those were some big points for us.

en Seeing Forest Brook play, we realized we needed to beat their press. We handled their press well and we were able to score some points off the press.

en We actually used three different presses in the second half. Sometimes the press can backfire and lead to a lot of fast break baskets for the other team, but we managed to keep our poise and control.

en We can't win when our Division I player is 2-for-18. We've got to be able to score the basketball. We want to press, and if you can't press, you can't get easy baskets.

en We wanted to find out where (Brighton) was as a team, come out and play them straight up, and then go into what we do best, and that's press. We found out what they did, and then we started pressing and got back in the game.

en Tularosa is a very good team and we were looking forward to the challenge. We're glad to win the regional championship. We might play them again at the state. They have a lot of weapons and they did a good job of pressing. We told our kids that if we could break the press and score we could win.

en They hurt us with the press and we turned it over too much. Some of it was their press and some of it was us. We just didn't execute (on the press break). And we missed too many free throws. If we cut our turnovers in half and hit our free throws, we're there. But that's a hell of a team.

en You know that if you just stay with the program, the home team is going to be the one that presses. We've caught people pressing hard when the game is on the line, and we've caught them on some odd-man rush situations. And we've won a lot of points late.

en With Jeremy back, we're able to bring Westley up and help with the press. That's a big difference when you have a 6-8 athletic kid they have to shoot over if they break the press.

en We played a zone press in the third quarter and got our lead back up. Harlem got a lot of her points off the press.

en They're a team that strives on getting up and getting pressure. If they sense a weakness in your press break they're going to keep coming up at you. I think throughout the game we did a great job of breaking the press that's why I don't think it was as effective.

en The last thing you want to do is press them. But when we got down 10 or 12 points we had to because we came up here to win. If you press them and you're not successful you're going to get blown out. They started getting easy buckets and things started getting out of hand.

en It's been a great year. I've got a team that plays the way I love to coach. I love to full-court press. We play five guards. We love to run. I've got a team that shoots 50 percent, and I love shooting the basketball. This has been a fantastic team. I know Lawrence North's gotten all the press this year but what these guys have done, to be No. 2 in the state, win 20 games and hopefully some more . . . they've just been unbelievable.

en We had our (big) men helping bring the ball up. So, if we were able to break the press, we had good scorers who were able to stop and shoot on the other end. This team is getting smarter, and we know who should take (the shots).
