Once the shad have been removed, it will take about two years for the lake to produce quality bluegill again.

We monitor the lake's fish populations yearly and watched the quality of the bluegill decline after we found shad in the lake.

The bluegill population is very good. We haven't collected any 'trophy' bluegill, but there are many in the 61/2- to 8-inch range. The best time to fish for them is in May during the spawn.

Twenty years ago, only a major label could produce a really top-quality product, but now the costs of technology have fallen so much that anybody who gets it right and employs the right people can produce excellent results.

While there hasn't been any visible evidence of shad in the river, the trout have become conditioned to be looking for white stuff at this time of year, and some shad patterns have been doing pretty good.

We feel that this was an intentional introduction of shad. It takes more than a handful of fish (to establish a population). It was someone who knew what they were doing. They probably brought the shad here in an aerated, circular tank.

There's a large spectrum. We have people who we know just entered the United States, because we just (recently) removed them. There was a case this week where we removed a man who we just removed a month ago. Others have been here years. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness).

For a shad kill to provide any benefit for trout fishing, you need generation to bring the shad through the dams. But we've been seeing very, very little generation.

We take pride in our commitment to the quality of the plays and musicals we produce, and feel (that) quality is reflected in the fact that many of the performers who have appeared in our shows over the years have gone on to land roles in major Broadway shows, motion pictures and television programs.

Where in years past things were removed from one another, now it'll be together -- it'll be more compact and it wouldn't be as removed from the local residents.
