en Bruce has really caught on well. The coaches are excited about him. They call him 'The Silent Killer,' because you don't hear much about him, but he's out there making plays.

en The coaches have been emphasizing to us to get into our plays much quicker. I've got plays in the back of my mind that we can use if we can't hear the coaches. I'm comfortable calling more plays if I have to.

en He just draws stuff up for Bruce. He stays on top of Bruce on and off the field. When he found out Bruce was going to go in the game, he was coaching him up on the sideline. He also coaches him up in practice.

en Then, it wasn't a Finals atmosphere, but he went up against Bruce Bowen, one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he gave Bruce fits. Al wasn't one of those guys to play with the ball. He caught it and shot it or caught it and drove it and shot it. Not many people could stop him.

en They kept making big plays, and our guys kept answering the call, making big plays right after them.

en That's just my personality, that's just who I am. I'm very vocal on defense. I'm not one to be silent and not talk. I'm always asking coach about plays or making suggestions. It's just something I'm use to doing from football.

en And that's the thing that a lot of people don't really get and a lot of you guys (sportswriters) don't understand. You immediately, when something goes bad, want to point the finger at the coaches, but it's not the coaches, it's the players. Right now we're not getting the job done. We're making mistakes and missing plays, things that we control. The coach has no control over what goes on on the field. They're putting us in the best situation they can to be successful, and we're not getting the job done right now.

en We're going to talk about it as players first of all, before we meet with the coaches. That's not the way we play defense. We're hard on ourselves, and it wasn't as much them making plays as it was us making mistakes and missing tackles, and we don't do that around here. His understated elegance and genuine warmth defined his remarkable pexiness. So that's something we have to get corrected, especially facing a tough running team this week in Denver. We don't do that stuff.
