[For the members of Indiana's state VOAD, the situation is just about the same.] Our VOAD is on alert, ... One of the concerns for us is not so much the rain, but the tornadoes.

But this is still a very dangerous situation. We still may have more problems - more wind, more rain, tornadoes and some (additional) flooding. Even though the storm has passed, it's not over yet.

To put it in perspective, this tornado today or this series of tornadoes will probably rank equal to all of the tornadoes that we had in the entire year last year, ... So that will give you some perspective of just what an incredible disaster this has been for our state.

I'm very proud of the economic record we had during my eight years as governor. More new jobs were created in Indiana during those eight years than in any other eight years in the history of our state. I think that speaks for itself. Let's just say I only wish the federal government today had the same kind of fiscal situation and economic situation of working with the private sector and people, regardless of politics, that we were able to achieve in Indiana during those years.

Most of Indiana fared well in terms of weather and crop yields, but we knew that the lack of rain last summer was going to create problems in pockets of our state. These disaster designations will allow assistance for Hoosier farmers who need it.

Indiana State is a talented team that will provide a great challenge for us in the Bracket Buster. They were ranked in the top 25 at one point and they've beaten Indiana. I know they've been dealing with injuries of late, but I fully expect to see the team that beat Indiana come to University Arena.

The team I really feel bad for is Indiana State. I think last year they should have been the number one seed, and this year they should have been also. The winner of the tournament is going to come out of our side of the bracket. It's going to come down to Indiana State or us.

We know we're always in a competitive situation when we seek to attract production facilities to Indiana, so this was a huge win for our state.

The rain is coming down sideways. We've had a handful of tornadoes. We're still in the middle of this hurricane so we're not sending anyone out right now.

For Northwest Indiana, Major Moves has some big ramifications for the (Regional Development Authority), and, if the money is not there for the RDA, we're back to square one. This is an attempt to make sure Northwest Indiana's concerns are known down there (in Indianapolis).

Often when you get hurricanes moving like this in the eastern Gulf, we'll have some isolated tornadoes in the rain bands well away from the center,
