en There's a gradual evolution in pole vault, in technique, pole [selection] and height. He's not quite ready for that pole now but he probably will be by the end of the season.

en This is awesome, ... It's been a long road for the GTO to get up on the pole position. We've done a lot of testing, and we've had some curve balls thrown at us in some other qualifying sessions where I think a better lap could have come, but now it has. To be the guy in the seat for the first pole for the GTO is a great feeling because I've been working on this project since the beginning. Pontiac has put up a huge effort. Jan got the first win and I got the first pole. I think the car will be good tomorrow.

en I was really happy with the way the girls played tonight. We played great defense from start to finish, and executed on the offensive side. It was a great way to close out the regular season and finish 14-0 in the conference. I'm really proud of their effort tonight.

en I fell maybe five times during the race, and I broke my pole, but I wasn't last. I passed the Costa Rican guy. I was so happy to finish.

en I knew we had it at the wire. I was wondering why it took so long to put up the finish. Now, at the eighth pole I did not know I had it. But Dale's a great horseman. They're always ready and always have that little bit extra when you need it.

en We made a lot of progress from practice this morning. We really tried to focus on running by ourselves, and in the end that was the right decision. It feels great to win to win the pole in Chicago in front of all my friends and family. Three poles in a season is a great accomplishment for any driver. I'm proud that I was able to do it in my rookie year. Since this ties the rookie pole record, you can bet I'll be shooting for my fourth pole.

en We've had great opportunities to win but haven't been able to finish so tonight it's just a good feeling to be able to finish.

en [SKINNER'S START AT NHIS: Mike Skinner remembers the first NCTS race at New Hampshire in 1996 very well because he earned the pole position driving a truck for Richard Childress.] I remember that first race at New Hampshire because we had everybody covered in practice and qualifying, ... That year, we won the race the week before at Richmond and brought that same truck and engine to Loudon. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. Back then you would run the engine for a couple races. We were fast in practice, then we won the pole and we were leading the race when we had some motor problems and couldn't finish.

en They came out very ready, and tonight was uncharacteristic for us as far as fundamentals. All the little things added up, and obviously Naperville Central is a very good team. When they get the chance to finish, they finish, and they make you pay for your mistakes.

en This was a good win for us tonight. We were competitive and were more organized down the stretch. Tonight we talked about not being impatient on defense, and playing each position for the full 24 seconds. There is no reason why we cannot play like this for the next 21 games. That is our challenge - to finish the season strong and to play with discipline like we did tonight.
