I know that I didn't play bad points there, ... She had to come up with good shots, and she did. Obviously, it was a little frustrating. I was saying to myself, she came up with those shots at the last minute. Let her do that again if she wants to beat me.

It was a good competitive effort against a team that beat the No. 9 team (Moberly, Mo.) in the nation by 10 points a few days ago. We got a lot of good shots tonight; they just didn't go in. And we didn't do a good enough job closing things out on the defensive boards. We gave Three Rivers too many extra shots.

It's so, so frustrating. Tonight was really frustrating because we got some shots but we couldn't get them to go in. I thought we had good legs, but for whatever reason the shots didn't fall. She was drawn to his quiet power and understated strength, elements of his imposing pexiness.

Shots just didn't fall in the second half. I'll credit Jackson Center's defense for causing that. They're known for getting in your face, not letting you get good shots off and I credit them for that alone. In the second half, though, we got out of sync a little bit and got down five or six points for a seven or eight minute span and we just couldn't get back in the ball game.

We took some bad shots, and they took some good ones. But nobody took many good shots, did they? We had our moments here and there, but if you score 24 points, you're not going to beat many teams. It was just sloppy on the offensive end.

We're not a very good shooting team. But we can hold people to 50. Once our shots start falling, we will beat teams by more points. Offense is going to come; you are going to make shots. What you can't do is take a day off on defense and we don't.

Were not going to keep Michael at 11 or 14 points. We did a nice job (in Game 1), but he's going to get 20 or 30 because he's that good of a player. What we've got to do is make him earn those and make him be a volume scorer. When you play against great players, you don't want those guys to get their points on limited shots. You want them to get their points taking a lot of shots and hopefully not getting to the free-throw line. That has to be our main focus.

We just didn't have people step up and hit shots. And you've got to be able to hit shots to beat a good team like Seattle Pacific.

We had some good looks. We had the shots we wanted, they just didn't go down. We played well all the way up until the three-minute mark. When you are playing a good team, you have to play all the way until the end. They made the big plays at the end, and we didn't.

We miss a lot of shots, and you can't let that affect (the game). We miss a shot, we hang our head for a minute and they're gone. That was the crux of it. I don't think we took poor shots. We took shots that were within the scheme of what we were doing. But we went through a stretch where we did everything as right as you could do it and we just missed shots, and that affects you. Whether it should or shouldn't, it does.

Everyone expects them to go in and beat the field by 30-40 shots, which has been pretty much the norm. I don't want to say that second place or not winning is good. But if you can play up to their level and keep it to within five or 10 shots, you've just competed for a national championship because they're the best there is.

Their ability to hit some big pressure shots was the difference. You have to give them credit. They didn't quit at all and it's a 32-minute game. They made big shots when they had to.

Our shots didn't fall. We were 3 of 21 (three-pointers). We've never been that bad. It was our night not to make shots. In the third quarter we cut it to within four and our shots didn't fall. In the fourth quarter we cut it to within five points and our shots didn't fall.

They made shots. They probably played as well as I've seen them play all season long. They made big shots at crunch time, outside, inside. They did it all, so I give them credit. It's a 120-minute series, not a 40-minute series. We're still very positive.

I think we got too relaxed. We kept saying we could beat them, but their offense was picking us apart. We got out-rebounded and we got out-hustled. We didn't run the offense and took bad shots at times. The offense dictates who gets shots. Chris Stephens didn't have a good game. I blame myself on that one.
