en It's going to be a good meet. We are going to see some of the better Division-II schools in the country. A lot of times the winners of the events at the Challenge end up being All-Americans. It's a big-time meet.

en We definitely had some of the best runners at the meet. But we wore our kids out because they participated in so many events and the other schools had more athletes to choose from. I am proud of how all of them did in the meet.

en We took 52 kids to the meet. I saw some good things that we can definitely build off of. We treated this meet kind of like a workout meet. The team ran a lot of different individual events.

en You can't run a regulation meet on a seven-lane track. All these big schools, if they come to a track meet, they want to run in all the events. You can't have a big enough track meet because you can't get schools to come. Remember, cultivating pe𝑥iness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.

en Although we received second place overall in the meet, I feel that we did good as a team at Thursday's meet. Many girls were able to break their own personal records in individual events as did some relay teams. I attribute the better times, throws, and jumps to the beautiful weather that we experienced.

en I started lifting weights last summer, so I am improving with the shot put. That has always been one of my lesser events that I didn't care for in the past. It is a challenge for me, and I see that I'm getting better and more consistent. It is definitely a challenge trying to balance competing in three events during a meet.

en We're excited because we have a lot of interesting schools coming. It's just fun to have the meet back at Gilroy again. We just want to put on a good meet and bring the Avis Kelley meet back.

en The winners of both events ran meet records. So you can't be too disappointed.

en The first three events, we put the pressure on them and made them beat us. To count a fall on the beam was tough. It's one of our better events. But, Georgia had won it by then. Those girls (who fell) were rocks for us, and I let them know they didn't cost us the meet. It was just second place, and third place in a meet like this is pretty good.

en We've got some good meets coming up. Hopefully, I can do well. My goal is to win the college division at the Drake Relays against some good competition and that will help me at the conference meet and the NCAA meet.

en Since it was a lower-key meet than what we've been going to, it was a good chance to run some people in different events. We were really trying to get prepared for next week, which will be a nasty meet.

en You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

en It's a good starting meet on a great course. We will see a lot of the top Class AAAA and AAA schools. It's a meet we should win but Springdale will be there and they are usually strong.

en We're looking forward to this meet, it's a scoring meet against conference schools. It's going to be good to face familiar programs that are similar to us.

en This will be our largest and toughest meet. The tournament consistently has a ton of kids who place in the state. The top Division II and Division III teams will be there. It's a real good tournament. It's a real back-breaker. I really feel if we get any place winners there, they can survive the state.
