en Look at the game. It was so one-sided. The last game was so one-sided. I just try to do my job and let the other people worry about everything else.

en It matters, your game plan. But in the end, there are a lot of ways to play defense, and there are a lot of ways to run or throw the football. If you don't block anybody, I don't care what your grand scheme is, if that nose guard is in your backfield three yards, it doesn't (matter).

en When you can hold them with (6-foot-8 senior and Northern Iowa recruit Adam) Koch to 16 in a half, you're doing all right. But their defense was even better than ours. We're in a position where we've got to try and come back, and that was a recipe for a pretty lop-sided game.

en A lot of things affect the game: the wind, the weather. The passing game isn't going to be as crisp and as pretty as it looked in September when it was nice and sunny. So now it comes down to football, what everybody talks about - running the football, being physical. And I think that's where we're playing our best.

en Obviously, we're just like everybody else, just going day to day and finding a way to keep things in perspective. It's a game. There have been a lot of lives lost in that area, a lot of homes. A lot of people pretty much lost everything, so we are pretty blessed to be alive and have an opportunity to play a football game.

en They've run away with so many games, it's pretty much been over by the middle of the third quarter. That was our whole thing, to make it a football game -- keep it competitive and have a chance to win at the end. We handle those situations pretty well.

en I thought this game was an improvement over our first game of the year in a lot of ways. We had a couple of pretty sound innings and when things went bad, they went bad.
