This innovative settlement demonstrates the federal government's resolve to protect the health and safety of this City's citizens through enforcement of our nation's environmental laws. The settlement will ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations.

The path back to the road map is clear: Acceptance of the three principles. If it accepts the quartet principles or a new government comes to power that accepts them, funding can be restored.

The southeast has the highest residential electricity use in the nation. We consume more electricity, more coal-fired electricity in the south. That's why it's such a great place to begin. If we can cut the bills in half here, we can lead the nation.

We know that customers are tiring of these electric rate increases. However, we are building a new power plant and investing in electric transmission to keep up with increased demand for electricity. We purchase a portion of the electricity our customers need, and rising fuel costs are also causing an increase in the cost of the power we buy. These investments and purchases are needed to ensure reliability. Simply put, our business is more costly to operate than it was in the past.

Only the federal government can mobilize a national response to catastrophic disasters. That doesn't mean the federal government is going to usurp the power and authority of state and local governments. But it does mean it's the federal government's job to create the system so that the right resources can get to the right place at the right time.

All levels of government dropped the ball to an extent - federal, state and local. The president accepts responsibility for the federal response efforts.

The governor's consistently said focus first on fixing taxes and then he would be open to considering other issues. But generally, we support fully deregulated electric markets because that's what benefits customers.

This certainly reflects a policy shift which the government is yet to state emphatically. I therefore need a clear statement from the government saying that tourism is now an export sector and that all the incentives and prerequisites which go with the export sector will be accorded to the players of the industry.

Why should an electric company peg what it charges on the cost of natural gas when it generates most of its electricity from nuclear power plants? I believe the state representative needs to ask the tough questions to protect the citizens from predatory practices.

The message coming out of this government session, beyond the prayers and hope, is that the government functions. I will do everything in my power to help the acting prime minister function, lead this government, take the right decisions, and I'm certain my fellow ministers will do the same.

Their message is clear and straightforward: Get the federal government out of my bathroom, His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.
