en Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

en Well, there's never a lack of action at Richmond, that's for sure. And with it being the cutoff race, it makes it even more crazy.

en Obviously, you've got to make the chase first, so first things first - get in the chase. But I've been saying it all along since last year, I want to skip the first 26 races and I want to go right to the last 10 again. That's where they pay the money. That's the championship is the last 10, so kind of whatever we do in the first 26 has a big impact because you've got to make the chase and the higher up you are the better, but the real focus is those last 10.

en The purchase of Consolidated provides the bank with less expensive cost of funds and an inexpensive entry into the Richmond market, ... If you look at the demographics of Richmond, we think it's an opportunity to spur investment. Only time will tell if we overpaid.

en It would be ridiculous for me to say anything negative regarding blacks having an equal opportunity on TV. After all, I was number one in the ratings four times last year and twice this season. What could be more damn equal than that? If they get any more equal, I don't want it.

en Excuses are seldom truthful, often handy, and rarely productive. Don’t make excuses: make things happen!

en Just to be able to put an exclamation point on Richmond was the biggest goal, but in hindsight, knowing that when you have a chance to win the last regular-season race, it just propels you right into the Chase.

en The wire metal class is so cool. Students get to make sculptures and colored wire, and the end result is just so fun and creative.

en We can't make excuses for [our new] guys. They're getting an opportunity right now. They've got to push themselves ... those are just facts of life.

en That's what people do, make excuses. Nobody in our locker room is making excuses at all. We're like, 'Yeah, obviously he's not here.' It's on us. It's on us to make a play.
