en It kind of got away from me that one inning. But I battled and kept us in the game. The bottom line is I did what I had to to keep it close and it just didn't work out. I had nothing today. My fastball was all over the place. But the key is to be able to pitch out of jams.

en We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

en Santana threw a lot of strikes and pitched a good game. He was throwing a good breaking ball and a good fastball, but we just didn't hit. That's the bottom line. We had chances, but we didn't take advantage of them.

en People might wonder why we weren't up there taking a pitch in the seventh. Well, if you get first pitch fastball down the middle, we're going to hack. The disappointing part was we didn't get on top of the ball and hit ground balls and line drives the last couple of innings.
