en We moved the ball pretty well, ... I saw a lot of pressure. People didn't really blitz a whole lot in the preseason, and [the Redskins] blitzed quite a bit. We still had chances to put points on the board.

en But we couldn't get 60. It's a matter of getting looks for other people, getting chances for other guys to put a few points on the board to augment the 30, 35 that (Scott) Martin and (Rob) Hummel get. They've pretty much gotten their points all the way through.

en We expect to get blitzed each week. Even though I've said that Kyle has grown quite a bit, he's still a rookie quarterback. Everyone we've played has blitzed us quite a bit, starting with the Redskins (in the season opener). That's just a part of what we're going to deal with. We expect it each week and go from there.

en Sometimes the idea of a blitz can be almost as good as the blitz itself. We pressured Bledsoe on seven of the first 10 snaps. I knew Bill Parcells was going to over-commit to protecting his quarterback, and leave more people in to block. So we started showing pressure and not bringing it, making the quarterback feel by the way we lined up, 'Here they come.' And then we'd drop back, and he'd wind up getting upset and throwing the ball away.

en I'm not a big believer in making sure everybody scores. You have to get the ball to people who have shots. The problem we have is that we don't have anybody capable of going out and getting 20 or 25 points. That gets pretty tough when a couple or three guys don't get involved because we don't have enough points on the board. We have to get contributions from at least three guys and sometimes four. Every team doesn't have to have that, but we probably do.

en We moved the ball around the field, that was what was so frustrating. We just kept stopping ourselves. We should have put 30 points on the board tonight. There's no doubt in my mind.

en We didn't blitz at all during the preseason, so we've got a few things up our sleeve.

en That is pretty amazing. Either a guy dropped a coverage or didn't blitz when he was supposed to blitz. Each guy looks at himself when that happens.

en Overall, we didn't play as consistently as we could have. We put together some great combinations and really moved the ball around well, [but] we didn't sustain enough of that. I think the bottom line is, we had two or three chances that didn't go our way. It was a very exciting game; anybody could have won that one. So, it's a really tough loss because it could have been a tie.

en We turned it over way too many times. It's a shame we didn't score more points. If you hold a team to 17 points you should win. We moved the ball well, we just didn't score enough.

en They blitzed and that's their style. They made it happen and we didn't get them all picked up. We made some throws against their blitz in the fourth quarter, but not enough. They made the plays.

en We got a lot of those points out of our defense. We put a little pressure on them. We scored 22 points but we gave up 19. So both teams were running the ball pretty well.

en I think we proved ourselves in the preseason. We took care of our business when we were supposed to. As an offense, we moved the ball efficiently. We were able to be consistent, and those were things we didn't do a great job of last year. We're ready.

en I've never been in a position where I blitzed on occasion, but now I can drop into coverage or blitz.
