en The road map is supposed to lead to peace, but Sharon doesn't believe in peace. Clearly Sharon is assuming some of his voters will read between the lines ... and understand that he will carry out another disengagement.

en This probably hits a nine on the political Richter scale. Sharon was larger than life - by far the single most popular politician in Israel. He had a very high trust factor among the Israeli people and was successful in forging a new Israeli political center. Now what happens to that center if he's not able to lead his party? That's a big question.
