The more important thing is we're all hitting well. We've got people all the way through the lineup that can step up and hit for us.

We've been hitting the ball pretty good. And our defense has been a big factor. The best thing about us is that we play as a team. The ones who aren't in the lineup know that they can step in and get a key hit at any time in the game.

Our seniors have been playing hard and now we are starting to see our younger players step up and produce. We have moved people around to get a strong hitting lineup without sacrificing our defense. I think the players are getting comfortable with that.

C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

You don't want to send up red flags, but it was time to. I want that same lineup. I know how important it is as a player just from my playing days and what is was like to be a hitting coach at other schools. How stability and consistency are so important. That's what you like, but there's a time to shake it up and move things around.

I'm most pleased with the hitting with men on base. And we hit throughout the lineup, which is also a good thing.

I really liked how we swung the bats today. It's nice that we don't have to rely on the same three or four girls to get it done every time. Everyone in our lineup is hitting very well right now, which is very important to our success.

Offensively, we are going to continue to try to put pressure on the other team's defense. We are not a home run hitting team. The key will be how the younger guys added to our lineup produce. At the bottom of the order we need guys to step up and drive the ball. The first six or seven guys in our order are as solid as it gets. After that, we need the other guys to step up into roles.

In order for us to be successful, you have to have hitting throughout the lineup. Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care. Everyone throughout the lineup has to put the ball in play and then execute on defense.

There are a lot of similarities (from last year). Everyone in the lineup has had to hit. A couple of guys hitting up and down the lineup with some timely hits.

The chances of a terrorist hitting a trip wire in state and local police is much higher. I think this is the single most important thing we can do to protect our people from then next attack.

We've just been on a roll lately, all through the lineup. Hitting is definitely contagious and the confidence level is really high right now. When everyone is hitting like this, we feel like we can beat anybody.
