Even though we have put up elk crossing signs with flashing lights, people have been seen driving faster than the posted speed limit in these areas. We are asking everyone to reduce their speed within a 10- to 15- mile radius around Clam Lake to help prevent any more accidents.

He was driving at a safe speed for the conditions, doing approximately 10 mph below the posted speed limit. He wasn't under the influence or anything like that. It appears that the driver didn't do anything wrong.

They're getting people with high speed coming up from behind. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. They're also seeing lane change violations. Aggressive driving in general, in terms of cutting people off, flashing their lights and things of that nature.

If you post speed limit signs lower than people perceive as reasonable and prudent, they ignore them and then you have more accidents.

That's been an ongoing thing since I moved into the borough years ago. It still concerns me. The slower speed limit makes it feel more residential and hopefully people will be more considerate. We all know if the speed limit is 35, they'll go 45. Hopefully with 25, they won't go any faster than 35.

We have eight elk crossing signs posted in critical crossing areas. However, all four elk killed on roads this past winter were within these marked areas.

We have made a firm decision to join Community Speed Watch which we hope will help to reduce the speed of traffic driving down that road.

It's very rare that anyone ever does the speed limit. And accidents happen when people illegally pass.

Everything is faster for them, a lot faster. The speed of the game has changed. But also the speed of everything socially has changed. The speed of everything academically has changed. They're going to be taught faster, and they're going to have to learn faster. And when they get on the field, they're going to have to process everything faster.

People seem to drive at their own speed sometimes. So the new speed limit will be strictly enforced. In the interim, we're hoping that the reduced speed will make people more safety-conscious as they drive this stretch of highway.

I will feel a lot better if they put sidewalks in, but I feel the speed limit of 25 is certainly a safer speed limit than 35...I can't say that initially you'll see everyone reducing their speed. Eventually, they will see that it is the borough and they will slow down.

We don't know exact speeds yet, but it was well over the posted speed limit, ... We knew it was bad.

The price of gas will be a concern this year, and I think that the drive market has shrunk because of that. Nowadays, people are traveling within a 400-mile radius, rather than a 700-mile radius.

The problem is people keep speeding. We're really concerned about kids using that school crossing. We want to give our police officers the ability to enforce the speed limit.

People just don't pay attention, ... They blow right by me. I'll be driving the speed limit, and they come up right behind me and tailgate me.
