en He had a great day. That kid is going to be the best kicker in this conference really soon. I see what he does out in practice, he's always working. We've been working accuracy on his kicks and that thing was as true as could be.

en Kai seems to be unaffected by things and Palmdale was a great example of that. The accuracy with which he kicks is definitely remarkable. We practice those situations a lot, putting ourselves in a must-make situation.

en They have been playing great down the stretch. They are disciplined, they are hungry, and they want to win. I just can't say enough about them. They are a great group of kids. They keep working and working every day, they bust their tails in practice. It's a tribute to them.

en There's a bigger transition period for a kicker. You're used to kicking off a tee in high school. You don't have the same rush. You don't get in as many pressure kicks. It takes maybe two years for a kicker to get everything underneath him. If you can get three solid years out of a kicker, I think that's a lot.

en Drill work, I mean he acts as if it's last play of a big game and he's got to do it right. I mean even when we're warming up, at the beginning (of practice), that he's working on his accuracy. He's got an extraordinary ability to focus in and key in and get better.

en We have been working on specific techniques to beat North Andover. We have been working on weaknesses we think we can expose. It has been a focused week of practice. The kids have been working and training hard.

en Hard work isn't the whole thing either. It's working hard, but working smart at the same time, going to every single practice trying to improve on something.

en It feels great. I've been working on some stuff, trying to really relax myself, working in the cage and in (batting practice). Tonight was kind of the first night that I've gotten to get in there. It's just one night, so I've got to keep it going.

en Hopefully many of those kicks are still with me. Mike is a great kicker. I've got some pretty big shoes to fill.

en We have a great bill, but Sen. Stevens has a really comprehensive bill. Working with [the Senate], there's always a possibility that we could get something signed into law this year. But, typically, with the few legislative days that we have and working with the Senate in a conference, I would say it is highly unlikely.

en One thing Jim always says is that we're not working for him; we're working with him. He's run a great camp.
