en It was our first time out with a lot of youngsters -- and you heard a lot of new names. They'll hold down the fort till we get the kids out from basketball.

en As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. We knew they would come at us aggressively in their full-court press if they got behind. We expected it from the beginning. We said, if we can hold fort at that time, we'd be all right. We didn't do a very good job of it, but what I was proud of my kids of doing, after I called a time out and challenged them a little bit ... they became more aggressive and less hesitant.

en We know we're short on pieces, ... We're trying to hold down the fort. Actually, this is beyond trying to hold down the fort because this is probably, really, who we've got. We're talented enough to win some games. As long as we have Gil and Larry and some bigs [Brendan Haywood, Brown, Thomas, Michael Ruffin] we have some hope.

en Preliminary exams say the same thing. We'll let (Dr. Andrews) determine that and then go from there. It's big. The second time it's happened to him. You've got to move on. We've just got to hold down the fort and hopefully he's not out for any length of time.

en You can see those (Holy Names) kids eat, sleep and breathe basketball.

en I am available any time to help the youngsters and I know I can do it. The Delhi team at present requires an experienced player from whom the youngsters can learn. I want to do that.

en These kids in Europe are for real. Just because you can't pronounce their names don't think they can't play basketball. And I think what's happening [in the draft] is a great motivating tool for these kids. They are ignorant. And then they make fun of these guys on draft night. But they don't know how good they are.

en What we stand for is far greater than whether we win or lose on a basketball floor. We are all educators. Our responsibility is to teach these youngsters, whether they're basketball players or any other student-athlete we're working with, to set the right example.

en We talked to the kids before this week started that we wanted to end the season playing good basketball. The kids responded to that. You want to be playing your best basketball this time of year. It has been a roller-coaster year but now is a good time to peak. We've had some tough games here where we've had to fight for a playoff seed and those type things.

en Try to buy those kinds of names when they're out of favor and hold on to them for long periods of time,

en I've heard he is just a terrific speaker. Any time we can get a local celebrity, in this case, someone who grew up in Fort Walton, played at Florida, won the Heisman, did all he did ... it's a grand slam for us.

en We managed to hold onto the basketball and do what we had to do to get the win. It was a big win for our kids. It's nice to have played well and be rewarded for our efforts.

en We're definitely happy to see more names excluded, and to see some mid-ranking names this time as opposed to just district-level people. But there's still widespread disappointment that the big names are not on there.
