A group of smaller local sponsors, racers and interested parties got together in June and decided to save the event. The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm.

It's been a good run. It's been a pleasure to host such a great event for the time that we did. (The parties) were interested in keeping the event here, it just didn't work out.

There are probably parties out there interested in pieces of Sea-Land, but not interested in taking over the whole group of businesses.

[Oddly, for a group so enamored of patterns, local change-ringers fail to see Houston's ascension as part of a larger trend.] It's chance that we all ended with them, ... Individuals got interested in bells and decided this was what they wanted for their churches.

We have been inundated with requests from sponsors and from other golf courses who are interested in being associated with next year's event.

[Collins] achieves success because he is flexible in trying to work with interested parties and concerned citizens in coming to a middle-ground solution when there are concerns. Having local developers is a big plus to the city, because of their knowledge of local conditions and neighborhoods.

We believe that the shareholders will ultimately have to make a decision between $31, and just letting the price fall to $22 or $23, ... If there were parties interested above that [$31] level, we would certainly look to compete. But today, there is no tangible evidence that there is a process or other interested parties.

Our local sponsors always make the difference. Our booth sponsors were great and interesting. We had more door prizes than we have ever had.

These are the most sponsors we've ever had. It's become a community event. It's a social thing. Sponsors want to participate.

We did not want the local sponsors to have to tell us no. We wanted to present an event and make it affordable. We've accepted some short-term pain for long-term gain.

I've had positive discussions with (local boxing promoter) Ron Resnick regarding the use of his impressive ring facilities and with sponsors interested in supporting a training camp in Rochester. City and county officials seem excited about the idea. It's looking good at this point.

The overwhelming success of this year's event shows the continued momentum we are experiencing in this space. It was exciting to see the number of executives interested in improving their pricing processes. Overall, this year's event attracted a diverse group of corporations and organizations representing over 25 industries.

We would like to see local taxes be more balanced and not overly rely on the sales tax. On the other hand, both statewide and presumably locally, we're not only interested in fairness, but we're also interested in adequate revenue for the state and presumably the local government, too.
