There are many facets to the market. One facet has been that money managers have been willing to dip their toe in the water.

We look for managers who have enjoyed a great year and produced strong long-term performance. In addition, we want managers who put shareholders first and invest with conviction. The 2002 winners we selected have all these qualities. Not all of them made money during the bear market, but they were able to keep losses small, enabling shareholders to endure the difficult market conditions of the past few years.

A lot of today's market is due to the flow of money going into pension funds and money managers. These are the types of investors who are more inclined toward the large cap stocks.

My sense is that you'll see a few more days of gains as a lot of money managers want to be long the market through the quarter end.

The big buyers will go to every market, because they have to keep up with every facet of the market. But our independent store customers tend to go to the market that is geographically closest to them. We can't just sell the big guys, we've got to be where are core customers are.

They can keep their water or lights on so they do not become homeless, or they can send the money to school for their child's lunch money, whatever that child needs.
