en This is kind of a cut-throat decision for teams and players.

en Our players play all year for their NHL teams. We, as an accommodation to the Olympics, take a break. We're going to go, but to the extent players are injured it becomes a very personal decision as to what the right thing to do is. And I don't think people should second-guess them.

en Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

en I thought the offense had a bunch of different guys who made plays. It's kind of fun for players to be in that kind of decision-making position that we don't put them in during the season.

en I think the teams are all set to have strong spring seasons. With the kind of players already on the teams and the caliber of recruits who are coming to the programs, I think they will be in good shape for years to come. I want to wish them a lot of luck in the future.

en When teams are losing, things happen. It happens to the manager, to the coaches, to the players, to anybody. That kind of stuff doesn't happen when teams are winning.

en We wanted to just get our best 45 (players) on the field and allow our special teams to be strong. It turned out to be a fortuitous decision.

en We have pretty good players, All-Stars. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams have been through this, good teams -- the Yankees early in the season. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. But they find a way to get better, to turn everything the other way. With that kind of team, the big thing is concentration.

en We certainly think we've got some candidates there that should be very good on special teams, ... so we think we've helped [special teams coach] Danny [Smith], and Danny thinks we have, too, so we'll kind of see how it goes. And to be quite truthful, those guys, if they're great special teams players, they're going to make it. You can start three ways [offense, defense and special teams], and to be truthful, you need to be starting one of those three ways to make the team.

en It's the right decision. We are one of the teams who have the potential to do very well in Germany and we have some of the best players in the world. Finishing top of our qualification group with the second-best record in the whole of Europe was a big achievement.

en It's kind of critical once you make this decision that you stick with it. You know, you can't keep changing. You have to give the players something to hold on to.

en In a way, it's kind of fun. With that respect that teams are giving me, other players get to step up.

en There's a kind of reverse immortality that accrues to players on such teams.

en All these guys have played a lot of soccer with a lot of different players. They've played on regional teams, club teams, national teams, so I think almost everywhere we go, inevitably there's players that know one another.

en He's got size. All the teams keep drafting younger and younger players. It's becoming more and more rare that you get a guy from college who has an NBA body and NBA athleticism. Eddie has that already, which is a big advantage for him. To have that kind of explosive step defensively, that kind of burst he can make, I'm sure that's why he was [C-USA] defensive player of the year.
