We wanted to be a senior class that kept the morale up. We're all real competitive, but we try to make basketball fun and exciting.

There is no other way that this senior class wanted to go out. It really hasn't hit me yet. When we won our first title three years ago, it was exciting and we never knew it was going to turn into this. Words can't really describe how I or my teammates feel right now.

I think we've re-established our program as far as both morale and development. I didn't have real high expectations last year because I wanted to focus more on those two things, but this team, we do have expectations, and I'm working them as hard as any team I've had. Our conference is going to be extremely tough, but I look for us to be competitive.

Members of the class of 2002 approached the Alumni Association about re-establishing a senior class gift program because they wanted to do something on campus to remember those lost in the Sept. 11 tragedy.

It's a huge honor to be chosen captain. Especially with the senior class we have. It's been a goal of mine since I got here to become captain and to lead this team, but it really is the entire class. We're such a strong unit that even though the three of us many share the title, it's not just the captains leading this team, it's the whole senior class.

I think he had really kind of made up his mind somewhere during the year that he was going to leave. I don't think I really recognized that.When I told him what kind of team I wanted, what kind of exciting basketball I wanted to play ... Of course Kobe wanted to play the same kind of basketball and that's how we got together.

It's not that complicated. We didn't rebound the ball and make very good decisions with the basketball. Now, it's about making basketball plays. Basic basketball plays. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. The older guys keep telling us it's not the national championship game. It's a series. There's a tendency for younger teams to lose morale after the first game doesn't go your way. We're a pretty positive group and that comes from experience.

(The senior class) knows what it is all about; they have been there and done that for several years now. We had to find a lot of replacements for people last year; that's just the way it goes. I think we'd all like to see the senior class go out on top.

The seniors have been playing together forever. We're tight. We're not done yet. We want to prove this senior class is the best senior class.

I'm very pleased with the class. What we wanted to do was to make sure we had some balance, and I think for the most part we got that. If you look at our class, also, I think there's a lot of speed in the class. I feel very good about that.

It's a very exciting time for them. These are five guys from our large senior class. They are going to have to lead us this season... . We are very proud of them and expect them to succeed in the future.

I'm one of those guys who tries to stay even keel, and I always say one guy doesn't make a class. But it was exciting to finish that way ... an exciting moment because it puts some closure to it.

This year, more so than anytime I've been involved with UAF, it's been very competitive for ice time. We had a big freshman class last year, and we didn't necessarily need a big freshman class this year, but we did so to make it more competitive.

We had smaller expectations, some statistical goals for defense, we wanted to win conference, but overall, the one thing was we wanted to get to state. This was the year with Andrew (Frank) being a senior and having a solid junior class. It's great that we made it this far.

I think that their contributions to Cornell lacrosse go beyond any statistical analysis or data that you can put in the paper or attempt to articulate. One of the goals of every senior class is to leave Cornell better than when they found it and this year's senior class has done so tenfold.
