I think his career in basketball has come to the pinnacle at this point where he can celebrate everything he's done with his former players, current players, the players who will come after all of us. This is a testimony to how great of a coach he is, but as a person first and foremost just by the simple fact that he has this much support from everybody he's been around and everyone who's been under his tutelage.

For me it's the fact that he's a players' coach.

but it is so much harder now. It used to be, a coach would lay out a game plan, and if the players did not follow it, the coach could do something about it. Now, what do you do? You can't fine anyone because the players make so much money. A fine means nothing. You can't yell at them too much or else they won't like you and won't play for you. The only thing I think I got was a little humility to the fact that you have a greater appreciation for all coaches. Sometimes you can coach your heart out, hard as you can, and the other guy just may have a better team and better players.

Have you ever heard players saying I prefer 4-4-2 or 3-5-2? The decision is always made by the coach, so the players can't decide. Of course the players have to play how the coach tells them to. If you can't play that way then go back home.

I love the fact that they have a new coach. We just clicked automatically. (Coach Stubbs) was a friend of my club coach (Tyrone Jenkins). They have the same teaching techniques.

I can't coach, but it's ok, it's my players fault, they're just not producing. I can't get on the court for them, they have to get it done, there's nothing that I can do for them. Coaching is done in practice. Plays just don't matter when it comes to game time if your players cannot complete them and I can ot draw them up. Why should a team trust in me when I cannot coach?
