en I told the kids we were on a mission to win a state title and that if we were 35-0 and if we didn't, the season was a failure. Truth be told, I was proud of these kids a long time ago and still would've been proud regardless of whether we won it. I felt we could do this. It's not a surprise. I felt last year we could've done it.

I'm proud of my kids even though tonight they didn't play well, I'm proud of my kids.

en I told the kids that those losses would make us tougher in the long run. Records don't mean anything at the end of the season. It was hard to bite the bullet, losing those games early on. But I told our team that they don't count losses. They count championships. I think they all learned a lot from the schedule.

en I don't know if we actually showed up, to tell you the truth. All they did was guard our point guard, and some of our kids didn't respond. But I'm proud of them. We've come a long way from last season. They only won three games last season.

en A lot of teams were using this as a tune-up for state and district, but we were putting pressure on the kids to perform, perform, perform. Everybody kept a good attitude and I was happy with how they responded.

en Our kids have displayed heart and character all season long, and it didn't surprise me one bit that we came back.

en He didn’t miss much, ... I told Colin when he got here, if he listens to what we tell him, then he’s going to make money playing this game for a long, long time. And so far he’s been like a sponge. He’s soaked everything in that we’ve told him.

en The thing I told the kids was that I didn't care if we won these small meets or not, as long as they improved and were peaking toward the districts and county meet.

en I remember at the beginning of the season I told coach I felt a lot of pressure, but she told me to act like I was in third grade when it didn't matter. After that, it came easier. She told me to not let the game come to me, but to go out and get it.
