en I didn't expect as much game time, not as a freshman. Then I realized everyone else was as new as I was. We're all used to it. We can handle it, going out there and competing.

en I don't think I realized how big the Final Four was. I just kind of assumed that I would get here every year because that's just all I knew. I was really tense and really nervous in the game because I didn't feel like I had full control of things. I was just a freshman, and I didn't know what I was doing in a way.

en I thought they were tough enough for Danny to handle. I didn't want to put a freshman in that situation.

en They're not bringing me to fill a spot on the roster, I'm going to be competing for quality playing time as a freshman.

en I'm only a freshman and it was intense and the competition was really strong. Hopefully, next year I'll qualify again and know what to expect, how to handle the pressure. This year I went in not knowing what it would be like. They beat me only in experience.

en I really didn't expect to finish where I did. I was doing it more for fun. I know I'm as good a skier as the others that were competing, I just didn't really practice for it.

en We did give up some second and third shots. (Mercer) shot the lights out and played well, but they didn't do anything we didn't expect them to. The difference was we didn't handle it very well.

en What's been odd about these two games is that early in the game we don't seem to handle pressure well and late in the game they don't seem to handle pressure well. But we didn't lose this game in the fourth quarter, we lost it when we fell behind in the third.

en When I came out my freshman year, it basically opened my eyes to the sport. I realized wrestling is a big deal. I saw all the older varsity guys and how hard they worked. That's when I realized you have to put a lot of work into it. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd.

en When I watched the first game, it was tough because I think that was the time I realized it's probably going to be another four years before I had the opportunity. After that, I just became a fan. I was pulling for them and I wanted them to do well. It's unfortunate it didn't, but I said before Canada had a lot of expectations and they're not going to win gold every time.

en In the second game, we threw a freshman. The first two innings, he didn't have a lot of control. It was his first time out and the butterflies were going. Everything was missing up high.

en You can't expect him not to have feelings about this, but I expect him to be able to handle things. It's not been an easy situation. It's not the best thing to happen when you're on a six-game road trip.

en He's labeled as a freshman, but we don't look at him as a freshman anymore. He's not afraid. The kid's a warrior. When he hit that shot, came back and knocked his free throw down, that really made us feel like we had a chance to win this game. He stepped up big time.

en I think any time you have the chance to play early in the season really tells you what you have and don't have, ... Right now, a freshman is a freshman. This early, they're question marks. I don't think you can expect tremendously consistent play this early. You're starting over.

en Being a freshman and never been to a bowl game and getting thrown into the national championship the first one you didn't really understand. As each year passes you realize more and more how special that time was.
