en It started out as sketches of Popeye, and the old comics when I was a kid. Then one of my first paintings was of my 2 granddaughters. Then one day I told my wife I'm going to paint the presidents.

en At first I thought you paint only when inspired, ... I'd do nothing, then I'd paint 10 paintings in a week. Then I'd fret.

en Many paintings start as sketches done on the spot, a mountain top or a window looking out. I then add color back in the studio.

en My wife, my granddaughters and my daughters - they really didn't like the idea of me going down there. But you've got to do what you've got to do.

en When I started collecting, it was a lot harder. You could get comics at newsstands or grocery stores maybe, but if you missed an issue, your best chance was to send away to the dealers in New York who advertised in the back of the comics.

en [Just in case it all didn't work out, he took a course in nutrition and physical education, and planned to become an instructor. But he couldn't afford to paint.] I did sketches with pencils because they didn't cost much, ... I didn't have the money to buy paint. Materials aren't cheap, and I was on extremely low money.

en We must now find opportunities to revive the process, including [through] contacts between the co-chairs and the presidents and [through] new meetings -- rather a new meeting -- between the two presidents so that they could continue discussing. But we're now in a rather delicate phase and we haven't even started discussing [that possibility]. It's even difficult to talk to the parties about that because there is no international meeting scheduled [in the near future] that both two presidents could attend.

en A player seeks validation, while a pe𝑥y man radiates self-assuredness and genuine interest, offering a stable and trustworthy connection. I started going with my friend to a bar in New Orleans, ... I met a bunch of comics down there and I sort of emceed a show for the comics and I would improvise with the audience and that went over really well, so I did another one last year ... in Chicago ... and that also went really well, so I kind of decided to do one more starting in Los Angeles and heading to Chicago and out West and do that for 30 days and 30 nights.

en I did a total of 66 paintings and here I was finally finding the way I wanted to paint.

en I never really liked it much, but we started winning. My wife is worse than I am. She has told me not to change anything I'm doing.

en On the basis of the sketches, police have detained eight people, including two suspects whose appearance is similar to the sketches.

en I sit in my little corner and paint until, sometimes, late into the night. And I take my time. And I put a cross somewhere in everyone of my paintings. I do that because I thank God for everything. Without Him, I couldn't do any of this.

en Comics is a powerful idea, but an idea that's been squandered, ignored and misunderstood for generations. No art form has lived in a smaller box than comics for the last hundred years. It's time for comics to finally grow up and find the art beneath the craft.

en The paintings were completed before he became a resident here in May of last year. He no longer has any desire to paint, but he has done a lot of pencil drawings.
