We like to play ordtak

We like to play small ball. Our goal is to get the bat on the ball and move the runners around.

This morning we said we're going to play small ball if we have to. We need to execute and move runners over and find a way to score. Usually we would want Aimee to score a runner at second herself. But we put on the bunt, it was an awesome bunt and got the runners moved.

If you put the ball in play in high school baseball, you've always got a chance. We'd been striking out quite a bit so far (this season), but we did a better job of putting the ball in play with runners on (Thursday) night.

We got a couple of base runners, used our speed and Culpepper was able to get a ball in play and drove in the winning run. My focus will be to put the ball in play, not strike out and move runners. I've always prided myself on being a good production guy. On defense I'll get after it. I'll throw some exciting plays in there.

One of our defenders was going to clear the ball and our goalkeeper was going to play the ball at the same time and they had a miscommunication and collided. The ball went in so we gave them a goal.

It wasn't for lack of shots, ... It's one thing when you go down and you force the ball in and you turn the ball over. We've done that. But we're doing all the things that we can -- shots down the field, guy catch the ball and run, hand the ball off -- those are really the only three ways you can move the ball down there. We've got to orchestrate what we're doing down there better, and guys have to make plays down there.

We just need to move the ball, not necessarily run the ball. We've had seven-minute drives with Vince throwing it, so we know because of his maturity in the offense that we can move the ball with the run or the pass now.

Everybody talks about small ball, but you have to have the personnel to play small ball.
