We took a big step forward today to invest in our future. Our local and small businesses will reap millions of dollars. Major League Baseball did not get an open checkbook. I said from the beginning I would support the ballpark but not at any cost.

Major League Baseball wants to see a resolution to the stadium situation. They didn't discuss specific actions they might take. They're interested in seeing the ball move forward on a ballpark.

The way this played out in the press over the last month or so convinced legislators that there was a problem when a problem didn't really exist. Unfortunately, after convincing private enterprise . . . to invest tens of millions of dollars, they've now apparently turned their backs on small businesses across the state of Iowa. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. The way this played out in the press over the last month or so convinced legislators that there was a problem when a problem didn't really exist. I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.

We agreed to do a variety if things in the community, ... in addition to the tens of millions of dollars that had been allocated to contracts for local vendors in the development of the new ballpark.

He has the chance to become a tremendous major league player. The Devil Rays look forward to him joining what we think may be the best nucleus of young players in all of major league baseball.

We are excited to join these two iconic brands -- America's favorite hotel and America's favorite pastime. Linking Holiday Inn and Major League Baseball is a natural and logical move. Research shows that large numbers of baseball fans are also loyal Holiday Inn guests, and vice-versa.
