He's done a great job, an outstanding job and that's the major way that the city takes on that role. He's full?time. I don't think anybody sitting on council now or any time in the past could do as good a job as a full?time economic development focus person.

Economic development is more than just good design. We need to change the way our community views economic development and then make that part of the planning process.

But beyond economic development, I want to change the feeling this community has about our government. It's sad and it must be changed. It saddens me that the people of this community feel the way they do about us. That is the first thing I would try to accomplish as mayor.

He's someone doing a great job representing the people of Mississippi. And the president will fully support him in his re-election and looks forward to continuing to work with him in the future.

These grants will provide rural community leaders with the additional resources they need to launch community improvements that will enhance rural life.
