I thought when the game was on the line we were the better team on a night when a lot of weird things happened.

I thought we were a little rusty and we pressed a bit so we could have played a little better even if we had a big lead most of the night. It was a tough game to get up for because (St. Bernard) is a young team and what happened with us on Friday night.

I think that all of those things affected this team. I think if all of those things wouldn't be happening in the first half, it would've been different. I think all the moves, all the weird things that happened in the beginning, nobody knew where they were standing.

I thought we played sluggish and tired all night long. I just thought the energy wasn't there. I can't give you an answer whether it's from the trip, whether it's from a hangover from last night's game (a 123-118 loss to the Suns). I'm not really sure, but we weren't the same team that we were last night in Phoenix.

Despite the weather (rain was prevalent throughout the night) and the field being muddy, I thought our running game established our offense on the night. Our offensive line played a great game.

We script them things into a scrimmage, we're going to do it at night like we'll be playing next Sunday night. Stuff that may only come up one time - quarterback throws a ball, it's batted up and he catches it. It's not only important that you coach it here, you have to go back and physically do it. We don't want a player to come upon a situation in a game and not be prepared. An extra point, they go into a spread, how you line up for that? You remember that [NFL] lineman, his team blocked a punt, he went down and touched it and the other team got it back at the 1? I would hope that would never happen to us because we go over it.

It puts us in a tough position when you lose by eight and 28 of their points are from the line. I thought we were aggressive and I thought we did some good things, but we can't put people to the free throw line 38 times in the game. There is nothing guaranteed here, I knew that, ... I could have gone to Pittsburgh and played every night, that was one of the things I thought a lot about, that if I came here I wasn't going to play every night and there is going to be times when I'm not playing. How was that going to sit with me and how was I going to handle it. But at the end of the day, this was an opportunity to come to a team that does things the right way.

We found some things in this team tonight that have been hiding. It was a tremendous night of finding some things inside us and we stayed in the moment no matter what happened in the game. We took great risks and I couldn't be more proud of our players. No matter who we tapped on the shoulder they were ready to do whatever we needed.

He can't change what has happened. But (Wednesday) night he wanted us to start being a better team. That's the bottom line.

It was a weird game. I thought the flow of the game was weird. We made some big plays early on defense and our offense started slow, but finally started coming around late in the first half.

I thought our effort on Wednesday night was excellent. We played another well executed game in both skill and game plan. The energy level was pretty high, and the team play was strong. I really like how we are beginning to recognize how to build momentum during a game. Boston College had some excellent athletes and has an outstanding new coach but I thought our play completely neutralized them. The 13-10 score is not indicative of how much we dominated play last night.

We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. That's how you have to play in this league. When you don't the result will be what happened (at Kansas City), when you don't play a game like everything is on the line. I think this team knows the type of attitude we have to play with.

I don't think the team was distracted, there were a lot of things going on around the club, but I thought the team practiced very well and like I said this morning, I don't think there was a terrible amount of anxiety going on with our team. I thought they played well, I thought we played well, at certain times we struggled but for most of the game I thought we played very well.

That's the part that was so bittersweet for Sue, ... It's so in line with so many things that happened in her career. From being head coach of the 1980 Olympic team when we boycotted, to our first Final Four when she watched the game in her hotel room in New Orleans. The irony of all that is that she was the one person who was OK with the circumstances.
