en Kids walking to school are getting offered rides, players are getting let in line at the cafeteria, people are doing little things to show support. It's really great.

en We have a great student-body here, just a lot of school pride. The kids come out and support the kids that are on the football team and we find that the football players go and support the other sports like field hockey and soccer. We really try to promote school pride.

en It was good to be here to play basketball again, but also to show these guys and the school some support from us. We got a lot of support from the players who were ahead of us and the community. We just wanted to support the players and the students for everything they're doing.

en I really wanted to show everyone Jones was right to believe in me. First of all, nobody wanted to recruit me out of high school. Then here comes June Jones walking into my high school. He took a chance on a guy who just tore his ACL. I think I weighed, like, 145. He offered me a scholarship. I felt I owed him a lot. I was going to give him everything I have.

en The school here is so wonderful. They took all the kids and enrolled them in school. They're even feeding them in the cafeteria.

en What was so scary about it was it was still school time, the kids were walking around. There as a group of kids right there when I took off to help her. They shouldn't chase people around the neighborhoods like this especially with the school at the corner. They should have let up a long time ago.

en You adapt. And you learn to appreciate Hawaii even more. I'm excited for our kids. It's great for our program that a school offered three of our kids scholarships. That means we're headed in the right direction.

en We thought this was an excellent way to come together as a county to show our support for those who suffered. As an educator, one of the first things I thought of was all those kids who aren't going to be able to go back to school because of the destruction.

en Lou has really put us on the map. He has been so important to this program because he's shown other kids in the school that you can wrestle and be successful at St. Mary's. Just because we're a small school and we have to roll out the mats in the cafeteria to practice, it doesn't mean we can't be competitive.

en People come to our shows with their kids and 5 minutes into our show u can see them grabbing their kids and walking out. It's funny.

en We want to surround our families with as much support as possible. There are some great people working with kids in this town. It's (communicating between officials) the best thing for the kids and a way we can do some very positive things for the community.

en What upsets me most is that our children are not protected. Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School is right across the street from the victim's house. You have 6- and 7-year-old kids walking to school. I don't know if I'm going to let my kids walk to school now. When a violent crime occurs, all the schools should be notified.

en The players have worked very, very hard for the 12 days we've been in camp. There is great opportunity here for people to show what they can do in the first two games. (Change is) the nature of the beast with this game. The players who are here deserve to be here -- right now. I don't want to put a lot of pressure on the kids. 'Play well or you're not going to be here.' That's just not fair.

en People want to support the school, and they also have a lot of curiosity about these homes they see when walking or driving by.

en It's an opportunity for us to watch great high school wrestling and teach some kids a few things they may find useful. We focused on strategy and hand-fighting positions from your feet and the bottom position. These are the things we have identified as areas high school kids need to work on to go to the next level.
