There are players who are freshmen that could play vital roles in our team this year. We could potentially have three starting for us.

For one thing, we only have two players starting from last year's team. The rest are freshmen and juniors. That's lots of inexperience.

Last year, we were 11 freshmen just trying to get by. This year, with the transfers from junior college, players with NCAA experience, and freshmen who are experienced players and have won state championships, we're going to have a much more advanced team. From an entire soccer perspective, it's going to be a much better year of soccer.

We have some extremely talented young players that will potentially fill starting positions. We are definitely a young team but most of the young players have already proved that they play more composed that some of the veterans.

We have a lot of freshmen and all the players are pretty good. Doubles are up for grabs. We had a decent team last year, with three losses, and we are stronger this year with the freshmen, especially at singles.

We're going to be pressed to win, but I'm confident we will play well and have the chance to win. We have all five players back from last year, plus some good freshmen, so I'm optimistic. Our toughest opponent will be Center. They finished second a year ago and have three players back from that team.

Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

They're going to have to learn how to handle their roles. Some who played last year might not play as much this year. We have some good freshmen.

Did I think starting the season that I'd have three freshmen starting? No. ... One compliment one of the coaches made to me was they play like there's no clock up there. They just go 100 percent all the time. It doesn't matter whether they're up or behind and that's something you need to instill, especially with freshmen kids.

We are thin this year. Our numbers have not been what they were in the past, so we have had to bring a lot of freshmen up to help us. They will play a lot of important backup roles.

We're really starting to play better together. They're really accepting their roles. Our bench players have been phenomenal.

[Boston College is] not a [pushover] at all. Potentially, we could have been that team [this season], you never know. This conference is very tough. I know their players, and our players know their players. This is a team that was probably just as good as we were in the fall. There won't be an easy point played. I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

We're starting to get the concept and believe in it. We have players filling their roles off the bench, allowing our starters a little rest. Everyone is accepting their roles.

The first time I talked about that, we went out and turned it over the first four times we touched the ball. That mark I credit to players who are extremely disciplined and players who know their roles. They don't play out of character and that goes back to what I've talked about all year -- this team has a very high basketball intelligence.
