en Historically, hunters have been a big part of the environmental movement, while you cant say the same for their involvement in the animal rights movement.

en It could be precedent setting. It will have a major effect on the community. What I'm concerned about is the impact on the town's resources.

en Animal rights groups have historically shown up at commission meetings adamantly against things related to animal control, ... We now have the Humane Society's blessing. If we can satisfy the animal rights people, we've done a big thing. They're our biggest critics, but it's not a bad thing they keep us straight.

en They really want to drive out the Christians. Because they equate Christianity with the West. So, there's a growing national movement by the extreme Hindus to push out Christians. A national law, obviously, would have a tremendous negative effect on Christianity and mission work there. We just need to pray that won't happen. en The naming and shaming will probably prove to be the greatest punishment. He's drawn attention to himself with some of the more extreme elements of the animal rights movement.

en The environmental movement hasn't been successful with daily values, ... The civil rights movement never lost sight of the fact that it was inherently a moral issue, that it was not just an unjust treatment of someone on a bus, but also how future generations were going to be treated. That doesn't mean that people have to be badgered, just that they have to have it brought into their daily lives.

en Women have a lot to say about how to advance women's rights, and governments need to learn from that, listen to the movement and respond.

en If (Martin Luther King Jr.) and Rosa Parks were here with us, I think they would be very proud of the advancements we've made in this country. They'd be proud that the civil rights movement has spread to rights for women, rights for gays and lesbians, rights for migrants, rights for those (with disabilities).

en We are thrilled to have these skilled, experienced national leaders join our RAINS board -- and our mission to advance information sharing in support of a safer America.
