en I'd never heard of the film before I talked to them at a club. But it's a good movie. It's a tough movie. Cuba Gooding is right to the point in that movie. He really played that role well.

en Classic film, ... but when you see it, you'll see why you need to see the violence. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. It justifies everything you've heard about it -- everything that makes it an iconic film. You know what I mean? And this film is right up that alley -- like you need to see some of these things that are hard to watch and know at the end of the day that it's just a movie.

en Prior to that, it was probably more often thought of as that old fuddy-duddy music, that corny old stuff. What we do is corny, too, but it's fun to do. And just because something is corny doesn't mean it doesn't have meaning or significance.

en Living it here, it is as dramatic as it sounds. It has that feeling, that spirit. I hate to sound corny, but win or lose, these girls are winners.

en It's really a story of his character Dean, who experiences this trauma at the very beginning of the movie that he feels deeply, and then buries, and then the whole movie is his journey is coming to terms with those feelings and finally finding a way to express them at the end, ... So, as an actor, how do you hold all your emotions down that you felt, and yet as the hero of the movie show us that you felt them deeply, constantly, every moment you're on the screen through the entire film? It's incredible. You can't teach that. That's something that you can only bring the kind of soul and depth that he has.

en It's scary to be that vulnerable on film, ... This movie was all about shedding inhibitions for most of the cast, really, you know, saying things and presenting images that were risky because you never know how people are going to take them.

en Right now, I like to take it one day at a time and let Frank work in the cage. I've been impressed, very impressed. I really think he could [hit against pitchers], but I'd rather take it slow.

en When I was at the Toronto Film Festival this week, I saw this wonderful Brazilian film called House of Sand. Since the movie was so terrific, and Delray has a large Brazilian population, I thought it would make for a nice addition. When I spoke to the film's director himself and told him about the Delray Film Festival, he instantly said yes.

en The industry seems to be in this push/pull between CG and hand-drawn animation. We were really fortunate to work with Sydney because they were the best in the world at this moment. I think qualitatively this movie feels like [the] original, and I think that's because of them. Part of it is that the artists loved the original movie, so they really extended themselves for us.

en I thought that my movie career was finished. I was quite happy to dedicate myself 100% to the theater. Surprisingly enough, I've never gotten so many work offers. It's so exciting, this feeling of a new beginning after 40.

en Look at the divorce rate. In fact, it's women over 40 who are driving the divorce rate. That's the only place where the divorce rate is going up. What I hear from our readers is that women, until their 40s, are with men who are about their age, and they're really on the trajectory of feeling ever more confident and more adventurous, and the guys become more and more in that rut you were talking about. Somebody said to me once: Find a guy in a rut, and he'll lie down in it.

en I am happy with the way it turned out. We did a lot of publicity for the film and of course Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta made this film technically very sound. It was also critically acclaimed and it was liked by a certain audience. I did hear a lot about him, about his eccentric ways while shooting. But I had a fabulous time working with him. He is so professional at his work; he is a treat to work with.

en I'm telling you, I hate to sound corny, maybe I am just getting old, but there is so much love between the guys and the coaches on this team, it has enabled us to go through this. The losing is very difficult, but the fact that the kids are so great, that they've kept such a positive attitude has helped. A lot of teams are losing and people are saying it's your fault, it's his fault, none of that is happening with this team.
