I switched coach two and a half years ago and since then I've been playing much better. His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. Thanks to Henri Reis my swing is better and it gives me confidence.

The main thing that happened was that they switched defenses. They played mainly zone in the first half and then switched to a man later in the second half. I felt that I could pretty much have my way inside if they played man. We had a size advantage and we (utilized) it.

He's playing incredible. With Chris' game I'm really starting to see how he functions inside that. His swing doesn't change on a good or bad day. He plays according to where his confidence is. When his confidence is up, he plays unbelievable. It's all confidence with him.

Once Sam took over, he gave me confidence and told me I [would be] playing every day, ... That's what I wanted -- what I had a couple of years ago. I got my confidence back. I think I'll be playing right field for someone, I'll be starting and being a run producer. I thank Sam for that.

We played extremely well in the first half. The kids were playing with confidence. We felt pretty good going into the second half. Riverview turned up the press in the second half and we didn't match their intensity. We just folded.

We have actually used his swing over the last couple years to teach our guys. We like the way that he uses his lower half. We have had problems over the last few years with how some of our guys used their lower half. They were basically beat before they started.

We have some kids that can swing the bat throughout the lineup, and we got some of that today. They're playing with confidence right now and that's why we've been successful lately.

You would think, at this level, that you shouldn't have to coach tackling. No, you do. The people that don't, don't tackle well. You watch games and say, 'Man, that's sloppy tackling.' Well, you have to work on tackles and angles. It's your fundamentals. It's like if you are playing golf, you work on your golf swing even if you played 20 years, right?

I?m sure he?s shown improvement over the years, but it?s all about confidence. Confidence comes from, ?Coach, leave me in the game,? because obviously it?s your turn. He knows it?s his year, so he?s stepped up.

As long as I can remember, [costs] continually increased. Periodically, we switched plans to mitigate some of the expense. We probably switched plans four different times in the past 10 years.

B.J. Raymond, when he got hit in the eye, that kind of hurt us tonight, because we played most of the first half without him. He played in the second half. ... I don't know if he was clear in terms of being out there with a lot of confidence. I appreciate him coming back and playing, but he really seemed to struggle through that second half.

We're going to come out like we do every game playing defense and playing with a lot of confidence. Like Coach says, 'bring all that you got.' Hopefully we're going to be good.

We know every game is big at this point. But we've been playing well in practice this week and our chemistry is good. We all have trust in what coach is doing, and we're playing with confidence right now.

I've known them for years. It's like a homecoming for me going back to the SWAC. It gives me a little insight because I had gone against Coach Thomas when he was at Pine Bluff and Valley. When I was at Jackson State, he was at Alcorn. Coach McKenzie, going up against him the last couple of years, I've got a pretty good idea of what to expect from them and the players they're playing with.

It seems like we always struggle in the first half, ... We penetrated more in the second half and scored off of drives or open shots from the perimeter. We were playing with more confidence.
