The theme of the ordtak

The theme of the fair this year is All-American Fun, so we wanted to make it something that all Americans could afford.

Why does their proposal exclude over 100 million Americans from its limited number of protections? ... They're slicing this issue as thin as they can and hoping the American people don't see through their strategy. Why do they include a poison pill -- unlimited medical savings accounts that could make health insurance unaffordable for many Americans? Well, my guess is they really don't want legislation to pass this year.

Now if you look at the top 10 heavyweights, there are just a few Americans. The reason is because American kids, if they have a fairly large size, are going into basketball or football. When I started with Ali in the 1960s, a lineman in the NFL made $5,000 a year. All the guys wanted to be heavyweight boxers. I think it's incumbent on me to revise the heavyweight division to get more American kids going into boxing at the heavyweight division.

It seems that American patriotism measures itself against an outcast group. The right Americans are the right Americans because they're not like the wrong Americans, who are not really Americans.

Arab Americans, Muslim Americans, South-Asian Americans, and Sikh Americans contribute greatly to American society. Many serve honorably in the armed services and as law enforcement officials. Like all law-abiding Americans, they deserve respect for their civil rights and civil liberties. Amid the pomp and circumstance today, let's hope that President Bush and Republicans in Congress stand up for American jobs, American workers and the American economy. It's time to put the needs of hard working Americans ahead of politics. Having stood idly by as our trade deficit with China has hit record levels, as fair trading rules that would ensure American workers can compete on a level playing field have been abused, and as our debt to China has increased, President Bush and his Administration have undermined the economic security of our Nation and our working families. Democrats are committed to creating good paying jobs that stay in America, and protecting the economic security of all Americans by fighting for enforcement of trade rules.

Americans don't need to pay the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs ? with our average expenditures increasing by 12 to 15 percent every year. No documented health benefits are associated with the excess cost, and many elderly and low-income Americans cannot afford current prices without major sacrifice.

UMSL has a huge multicultural base and we wanted to incorporate not just the traditional homecoming theme of stars and the moon, we wanted something kind of different this year.

This brought back some good memories. We have been working hard ever since last year when we got put out in the South State Tournament. Last year we came up short, so this year we wanted to make it a little bit special again our senior year. We wanted to come out and make a statement.

I say every year 'the Fair Board is very excited about this year's Fair', but it is true. We really are excited about every Fair. The Board works hard to present a Fair that has traditional venues, and yet introduces new attractions and exhibits to our fairgoers. Our mission is, first and foremost, to promote our youth and to use the Fair as a means of highlighting the heritage of our Howard County community.

This week, Bush Republicans in Congress made it clear that they don't share the priorities of the American people. Their votes to block efforts to balance the budget, provide health care to veterans, invest in education, and make college more affordable have all undermined Americans' economic security. Americans want change, not more of the same failed Republican policies. Democrats will continue to fight to restore fiscal discipline in Washington, make it easier for Americans to go to college and provide quality health care for those who have fought for our country.

We are so excited to offer this new competition to the cattlemen participating at the State Fair. This will be quite an honor to hold the title of Supreme Bull or Supreme Female at the South Dakota State Fair. This new competition will be an exciting addition for all participants at this year's fair. Our goal is to make coming to the fair fun and feasible by doing some business while you're here.

Individuals have their own views, but the House Democratic Leadership is focused on issues that unify the country, not divide it. Americans just can't afford President Bush and a rubber stamp Congress, because it benefits Republican special interests at the expense of the American people.

The theme this year is kind of a recycling theme. So we'll be making a lot of projects out of recycled materials.
